Green Solar Systems specialize in commercial solar panels. We are working with a range of companies from big to small across all business sectors. They provide UK businesses with a design, installation, and maintenance service for solar PV.

We offer lease agreements making the benefits more affordable for many when cash flow may be difficult. Solar works for business for many reasons. In the majority of cases, commercial installations are heavy daytime users. This is when the sun is shining, and the energy is being produced.

Due to the large roof areas and sometimes ground space available, high returns are possible from solar panels. Solar panel technology is one of the most popular renewable energy and sustainable solutions to date. Additionally, it has a lower risk of planning objections than the current wind turbine alternatives.

Warehouses, schools and education as well as nursing homes and other commercial enterprisises are high energy users. Many have now switched to solar to power their operations and reduce energy costs.

Whatever your business, Green Solar Systems can help. We offer a consultative approach, identifying your aims and goals and advising the best solution for you.

Financial Benefits from Solar for Commercial Users

Make Solar Work For You.

Businesses investing in solar and installing commercial solar panels benefit financially from long term savings along with improving the environment.

How things have changed from say ten years ago when solar PV panels were a new technology. They were thought of as expensive, niche, and an unknown experimental technology. A decade plus later, solar is thought of by many to be one of the fastest-growing renewable energy sources. This is not just in the U.K. but throughout the world.

Changes in technology and reductions in costs have made it so much easier for businesses to install solar affordably. Now, they can benefit from savings not previously available. Solar panels, inverters and battery storage are no longer niche but a mass-produced product, available at competitive pricing.

With performance warranties of 25 and 30 years, a commercial solar panel installation can be expected to supply free electricity for a considerable length of time. We have seen ROI periods from as low as 4 years.

Roof or Ground Mounted Solar Solutions.

On Roof – Planning regulations are a concern for some but unless you are in a conservation area mounting solar panels on your roof is the easiest, most affordable way of self-generating clean electricity for your business. Green Solar Systems can fit solar panels to almost any roof type, pitched, tiled, metal or tin and flat roofs.

Ground Mount – sometimes on roof is not viable or perhaps your roof is already full of solar panels and you would like to produce more power. If your roof is unsuitable due to its shape, the orientation is wrong  you have multiple vents, or rooflights a ground mounted solar array may be your best solution.

Wholesale energy costs are unpredictable because of that commercial solar panels make more sense than ever and demand is high. Should you decide to install solar PV panels at your business you will have a greater control of your electricity supply enjoying the benefits of reliable, low-priced electricity to use on-site.

Environmental Credentials

Corporate Social Responsibility covers so many areas and can include improving an organisations environmental impact. Regular commercial solar panels conferences meet with the intention of uniting the world to reduce climate change. We can all play a part of change for future generations, we know that leading scientists have warned us of the consequences of burning fossil fuels such as gas, coal and oil we will be the creators of our own man-made disaster on a global scale. We have the technology available with solar and other renewable energy sources to increase the rate at which we generate, store and distribute energy.

Reduce your carbon footprint did you knw thatit has been estimated that a typical 250kWp solar PV system will offset approximately 64 tonnes of CO2 that is estimated to be equivalent to driving 155,000 miles in a petrol car.

Add Battery Storage to Your System.

Solar panels can generate electricity to support your daytime usage. Therefore, the added option of a battery storage system is a huge benefit to many. As mentioned earlier on our site, the daytime sunlight will support your daytime usage. However, what do you do if your business has a large evening or nighttime electricity demand? For example a nursing or care home will have a 24 hour electricity demand.

By adding a battery storage system to your solar panels, the energy that you’re not using (that would export to the grid) would be put into batteries for storage. You can use it at a later time. You can capitalise on the electricity generated and energy bill savings.

Staff and Visitor Car Charge Points.

On site EV chargers powered from your solar array can send out great signals to your staff and visitors. There are multiple solutions available from individual charge points to carports with integrated solar panels, talk to us about your thoughts and we will talk to you about options and solutions.

The power of solar is enormous and your company can benefit from it.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT EV CHARGERS

If you have a Solar PV system installed, alongside a solar-compatible EV charger, you can 100% Charge your EV with your PV!

So how does a solar EV charger work? Well, Solar Compatible EV Chargers such as the Zappi, can be integrated into your Solar PV system, so that when there is surplus green energy, your Electric Vehicle can charge from it. Effectively giving your free green miles and a great return on your green investment. The myenergi Zappi is considered the world’s first solar EV charger.

A Smart EV Charger is simply a charging point that can be connected to the internet. When you plug your EV into a Smart Charger you are essentially sharing data, that allows you to optimise your car charging.
Smart Charging means that you can communicate with your electric vehicle and charging operator remotely. This allows you to update your firmware, choose when you want to charge, utilise time of use and economy tariffs, and renewable energy sources. By having your Electric Vehicle charging connected to the internet you are in control of how much you are drawing from the National Grid and when. All at the touch of your phone.

To find out more about the different features of an EV charger read our Guide to EV Chargers.

EV charging can be categorised into three different levels. Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3. These levels represent the charging speed of an EV charger, where Level 1 is the slowest and Level 3 is the fastest. Each level has designated connector types that are designed for managing AC or DC charging.

Most EVs and EV chargers in the UK are compatible. This is because most available EVs will either have a Type 1 inlet socket (120-volt AC) or a Type 2 inlet Socket (240-volt AC). These two types of plugs support AC (Alternating Current) charging and corresponds to Level 1 and Level 2 Charging. However, it is Direct Current (DC) or fast charging which is not as compatible. DC fast charging/Level 3 would require a plug specific to the Car brand.

Almost all modern EVs and home charging points have the same Type 2 inlet. Type 2 connectors (7-pin connectors) are currently industry standard, and can be found on public chargers also.

Most UK homes have a single-phase AC supply, which means the maximum rate at which you can charge your Electric Vehicle is at 7kWh. This is why 7kWh EV Chargers are the most common option for domestic home charging.

If you are lucky enough to have an AC three-phase supply, you can install a 22kWH EV Charger and benefit from faster charging speeds. Where a 7kWh faster charger would take around 8 hours on average to fully charge a car, a 22kWh EV Charger would take only 3-4 hours. 22kW chargers are most commonly used in commercial spaces, or modern developments. It is worth noting that not all EVs can charge at these high rates on AC.
